Dr. James P. Malone is board certified in otolaryngology with subspecialty training and expertise in the treatment of head and neck tumors, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and reconstructive surgery of the head and neck. Dr. Malone also performs minimally invasive Transoral Robotic Surgery (TORS) using the daVinci Surgical System for patients with head and neck cancer and obstructive sleep apnea.

After graduating cum laude from the Pennsylvania State University, Dr. Malone received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He returned to Penn State where he completed his residency in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, followed by a fellowship at the Ohio State University, Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital & Richard Solove Research Institute in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology & Microvascular Reconstruction.

Prior to joining AOP, Inc. in November 2012, Dr. Malone was Assistant Professor of Surgery, Associate Residency Program Director, and later, the Residency Program Director for the Division of Otolaryngology at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine where he received numerous awards including Excellence in Resident Teaching and Excellence in Clinical Practice. He has also been named to “Best Doctors in America” in 2010-2011 and 2011-2012.

Dr. Malone is a member of several national organizations including the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, the American Head and Neck Society, the American College of Surgeons, the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group, and the Pennsylvania Medical Society. He was also on the Oncology Committee at the St. John’s Hospital and serves as board member for the Ball-Chatham Educational Foundation.
